Bringing the Future of Education to St. Landry Parish

Our Plan

In July 2024, Helix began construction on the 42,000 SF state-of-the-art K-5 facility, set to welcome students in the fall of 2025. Subsequently, we will expand to grades 6-8 in the 2026-2027 school year and continue adding one grade per year. Our goal is to become a full K-12 institution by the 2030-2031 school year. The design vision for this new campus has emerged from collaborative meetings with our leadership and stakeholders. It focuses on an innovative medical and AI STEM curriculum, emphasizing project-based learning and leadership development within our local community. Our educational planning aligns with our commitment to innovation and community building, leveraging 21st Century Learning Environments in a modern facility that will serve as a community beacon.

For the 2025-2026 school year, we are enrolling students in kindegarten through 5th grade. Expanded grades will be added per school year, with plans to become a full K-12 institution. 

Two dedicated STEM labs where students will participate in a variety of learning experiences using technology, specifically in the areas of AI and healthcare. 

Students will receive all core instruction through tools approved by the Louisiana Department of Education to ensure mastery of skills and preparedness for state assessments. 

  • Transportation
    • Bus transportation will be provided to and from school for all students. Some outlying areas will utilize satellite stops.
  • Food Services
    • HAIM will have a full kitchen providing students with a hot breakfast and lunch. 
  • Athletics
    • HAIM will be starting a variety of athletic opportunities for our students. More information will be provided as to which sports will be available. 
  • Before/Aftercare
    • Before school and after school care will be available on-site for a fee.

All families will be notified regarding acceptance via email on Monday, March 3, 2025.

Once notified, you will be able to begin uploading documents via PowerSchool online.

Our Model

Helix AIM will offer an immersive STEM-based education focusing on math, science, and computer science. Students will learn core concepts in computer science and machine learning, alongside subjects like cell biology, anatomy, and microbiology. Our program will introduce students to AI and healthcare concepts. For the AI track, students will study AI, machine learning, and robot construction, using project-based learning and the following “5 Big Ideas of Artificial Intelligence”:

    1. Machine Perception
    2. Knowledge Representation and Reasoning
    3. Machine Learning
    4. Human-AI Interaction
    5. Societal Impact

In the healthcare track, students will gain foundational knowledge in cell biology, anatomy, and microbiology. Students will receive industry exposure to prepare for roles in clinical medicine, such as internal medicine, pediatrics, psychiatry, radiology, and anesthesiology.
