Helix AI & Medical Academy (Helix AIM) opened in August 2025 in Opelousas in St. Landry Parish. We are adding sixth grade for the 2026-2027 school year, so now we will serve students in kindergarten through 6th grade.
Our goal for Helix AIM is to provide cutting-edge education to the students of St. Landry Parish that aligns with the future of the workforce which sets our community and children up for success. We are educating and making an impact on the future leaders of our community in St. Landry.
Students will receive a groundbreaking education rooted in medical, artificial intelligence, and STEM curriculum with project-based learning and leadership development.

Meet Our Executive Director for Growth & Opportunities
To help lead growth and expansion into the St. Landry Parish community, Helix is pleased to announce that veteran educator, Jennifer Gordon, has been hired as the Executive Director for Growth and Opportunities for Helix Community Schools. Mrs. Gordon will serve as the founding principal of Helix Al & Medical Academy and lead the launch of the school. She will be responsible for the selection of new school leaders and teachers. Over the course of her 20+ year career, Mrs. Gordon previously served as a teacher, interventionist, Dean of Special Education, and the principal of a K-8 school in Lafayette Parish. Mrs. Gordon is looking forward to growing with Helix Community Schools and St. Landry Parish.
